How do you compromise with those who wish to destroy the USA?
If someone breaks into your house and says, “I’m going to kill you!”, what is the compromise? He wants you dead, and you want to live. There is no middle-ground, no safe position between these two extremes.
To put it another way, “You can’t be a little pregnant”. It is either all, or nothing. Completely one way, or completely the opposite.
I have heard it said a million times that compromise on the deficit is the only way we can accomplish our goals. I have heard it said that liberals and republicans must “meet in the middle” in order to forge ahead with any meaningful legislation to curb our out-of-control spending binge in Washington.
I completely disagree. Compromise with the liberals created this mess. Liberals wanted everyone to be able to afford a house, not just those who saved and were able to put down a 20% down-payment. That turned out well for us, didn’t it? Zero-down mortgages and interest only loans that stank so bad, the banks had to bundle them up and sell them off as fast as possible. But wait, it gets worse.
I read a story the other day about women having babies for the sole purpose of obtaining more state financial and food aid. Are you kidding me? Why does anyone go to work? Why don’t we all stay at home and get government help? Where is the incentive to achieve, to prosper, to reach for something great? Is individualism dead in the United States? Are all the optometrists in the USA retired? You need only look to France, Greece, and Spain to see the path that the runaway nanny-state leads to.
I am so disgusted by the 99 percenters who lack ambition, drive, self-worth, self-esteem and a basic desire to contribute to society. Instead, they only wish to suck off of those of us who pay taxes and struggle to survive.
Liberals Think Humans Evolved From Pond Scum….
So it is no wonder they believe that their favorite welfare and nanny-state projects can be paid for indefinately with money that evolves from nothing. They love to give away stuff that is not theirs. They love to take from the producer and give to the lazy. Why do we have so many people in this society who think that there IS such a thing as a free lunch? Simple, we stopped teaching self-reliance and self-esteem in schools long ago. We have instilled a desire not to achieve, but to mooch. How much can I get for nothing is the question that too many wake up asking themselves every morning.
My father owned a grocery store in southern California. He had to take deliveries seven days a week, often in the wee hours of the morning. It was just part of the job. It had to be done, but it fed our family and allowed us a great standard of living. Today, kids see these rap artists in Mercedes and BMW’s and say hey, who is going to give that to me? How can I find the quickest short-cut to making big bucks? Sometimes, actually often times, you need to work for it. Working for it does not imply that you start at the top. It means you start at the bottom and attain skills and knowledge. You then use those skills and knowledge to surround yourself with the tools for your ultimate success. The youth who are in the OWS movement should not be bitching about the fact that they are the 99%, they should be using their brains to figure out how to become the 1%!
Don’t Believe the Hype…. Obama is in Trouble!
If you are like me, you scan a few websites each day, putting your ear to the ground to see what is likely to happen in November. Everyday, I hear stories of the great economic turnaround and how the housing crisis is coming to an end. I hear of the self destruction of the Republican party and how not a single one of the Republicans could take Obama down.
Really?
Is $4.5 trillion in new debt something that instills a sense of confidence. This new debt comes from a president that promised to slash the national debt during his first term. Is Obama’s ability to read a teleprompter an indication of clear victory in November? Is $3.55 gas in FEBRUARY a good sign for the Yes We Can man? How is that Iranian thing working out for you, Mr. President? Egypt is looking pretty sexy in her new Muslim Brotherhood garb. Who knows you helped to unleash in Libya.
I have gone to several political planning sessions and rallies in the last few months. I have finally decided to get involved in the political process before Obama can completely destroy all that America stands for. I have seen, first hand, a tidal wave of enourmous proportion building over the heads of democrats everywhere. The media machines, run by the Democrats, for the Democrats, are running these stories to cause you conservatives to lose hope. Don’t bite the apple! The media knows that their chosen one is in deep. Like, need an earth-mover type of deep. Then again, just as Nancy Pelosi famously believed on Election Day 2010 that she would remain Speaker, perhaps the Democrats are as out-of-touch as they like to claim the Republicans are.
This much I will tell you, I think Obama is headed for a complete and total surprise come election day. I do believe that he thinks he is above all of us minions. He knows best for us all, and he knows that we know that he is the best thing for us. He will be very surprised as the election results start to pour in, and America will breathe a huge sigh of relief!
President’s Day…. Who Shouldn’t Be Remembered
When I was in school, we had a holiday for President Lincoln and President Washington. Tragically, someone in the realm of the politically correct decided to combine these into one holiday. Some say this was to give Martin Luther King Jr. a holiday, others simply say that we should recognize all of the men who held the highest office in the land.
Well, why would we want to do that? George Washington certainly deserves a holiday of his own. After all, he led a rag-tag group of warriors to fight for our independence against overwhelming odds with little help from the Continental Congress. He led our country as President, and stepped down after two terms to set a precedent that all President’s followed, until FDR.
Speaking of FDR, why should we give him any special recognition? The man ran around on his wife, stretched out the Great Depression for a dozen years, and was power hungry enough to ignore all precedents and run for four terms in office. Running around on your wife is reason enough to not celebrate the time FDR spent in office. Neither is keeping America in a horrible depression due to a total and complete lack of macroeconomics. Let’s move on……
How about Woodrow Wilson. He strengthed labor unions, championed the Progressive Movement, and actively tried to squash anti-war movements. I personally think that our involvement in WWI was late in coming, thanks largely to Woodrow, “I Kept Us Out of the War” Wilson. But, don’t you think it is funny that he tried so hard to keep us out of war, yet once it came he tried to silence the opponents of that war? Wow! Don’t forget, he laid down the basic points of the armistice that ended World War One. We all know that those terms allowed the rise of Adolf Hitler and the birth of the WWII. As if that weren’t bad enough, he was a major proponent of the League of Nations. It, like the United Nations of today, was a powerless, impotent body of self-serving idiots who can’t see that useless sanctions and letters of reprimand accomplish nothing. So much for good-ole Woodrow…..
How about a peanut farmer. Until recently, Jimmy Carter held the rank of the worst President of the United States. He single-handedly gave us the situation that we face today in Iran through his weak leadership and wimpy stance on hard issues. What would we expect from a pig, but a grunt? He was kind enough to give us rampant inflation, high gas prices, and 21 percent interest rates. Yeah, we should certainly pour praise on that man!
Do I even need to mention Obama? The guy couldn’t find a birth certificate for three years, and when he did, it was from a state that lets you get one by filling out a form that simply makes you promise you were born there. If you can’t find your birth certificate, you probably can’t run a country. Probably, I meant definately. We can see that Obama also, like most other ultra-liberals before him, has no economic knowledge at all. Tax the rich, give more to people who don’t contribute to the federal coffers, blame everything on anyone but yourself. Yep, Obama is a heck of a great leader. Being the liberal/socialist that he is, God probably doesn’t enter into his thought process much. This is easily born out by the fact that he has attended church less in three years than I have so far this year. But he could use a little bit of God’s help. Although, I don’t think God was particularly keen on the kind of hate that rose up from the church that Obama attended with “Reverend Wright”.
So you see, maybe we should just go back to the times of remembering Lincoln and Washington.
What Occupy Wall Street never learned from the Taliban
Well here we are at the beginning of December and the Occupy Wall Street movement is beginning to disintegrate. I find it very interesting that these occupiers feel that they can protest something without a basic understanding of history and its consequences. Take for example, the Taliban. Now, over in Afghanistan the Taliban would wait to launch offensives until the weather was more favorable. Now here in New York and cities across the country, we see the Occupy Wall Street movement disintegrate due to weather. Well, not only weather, but also to the fact that their message was nonexistent, incoherent, and severely misguided. Apparently these protesters are not so dedicated to their message when the weather fails to cooperate.
About a month ago I read several articles that noted the irony of the Occupy Wall Street movement. Remember how one of their messages was that they were the 99%? Their message, if I can even comprehend it, is that they were the majority of Americans. Somehow put upon, held down, and squashed by banks and brokerage firms. The articles I read stated how in actuality, all Americans are part of the 1%. That is to say that each and every American regardless of their income level lives better than 99% of the worlds population. Here again, we find that the Occupy Wall Street movement has no concept of history or facts.
Did you know that at Occupy Wall Street movements across the country, there were at least 372 incidents of sexual assault? Did you know that at many Occupy encampments women were encouraged not to report sexual assaults to authorities? Finally, there were a number of murders/deaths reported as well.
All of this makes me very glad to be a conservative Republican, and a proud supporter of many Tea-Party candidates. At least there is one thing the bleeding-heart liberals can’t deny, there were no rapes or murders at any Tea Party rallies. So long occupy Wall Street, thank God, we hardly knew you!
Barack Obama and the “fair” speech….
Yet again President Obama delivers a speech that is utterly incomprehensible. From what I can find online, various organizations estimate Barack Obama’s IQ to be between 125 and 145. Mine tested out at 145. If his IQ is 125, then his IQ runs 20 points behind mine, obviously, if his IQ is 145 it is the same as mine. So, let me posit a few questions:
If President Obama has an IQ of 125, then he is a full 20 points behind me. This does not seem fair to me. Why would my IQ be 145, when I only graduated from a public high school? Maybe, if life was fair, I would have been given a handout so that I could attend Harvard or Columbia. I certainly don’t blame Harvard or Columbia for your 20 point IQ deficit, but it does make me wonder. Then of course, we have the other side of the coin. Let us say that your IQ is 145, the same as mine. I do not know how you paid for college. Perhaps you paid for college by taking out some student loans, perhaps you were awarded a free ride, or perhaps your parents put you through college. Does it seem fair to you that after spending all that money on college that your IQ should be 20 points behind mine?
Is it fair that 40% of Americans pay no federal income tax? Is it fair that my dad died of brain cancer when I was 18 years old? Is it fair to us taxpayers that some of our tax revenue supports organizations that perform abortions? Is it fair that the unemployment rate in the United States is 8.6%? Is it fair that that number is actually closer to 17% when you account for those who’ve stopped looking for work, or are underemployed? Finally, is it fair that you are going to Hawaii at taxpayer expense, eating food provided for you at taxpayer expense and no doubt hitting the golf course, while so many Americans are struggling just to make ends meet? What, I ask you is fair about that?
You see Mr. President, what you have never been able to comprehend is that life is anything but fair. The only thing in life that is fair is that if you wake up in the morning, you can decide how to face the challenges that life throws at you.
Here is my take. Whether Mr. Obama has an IQ of 80, 100, or 180 he still seems unable to grasp the most basic concepts of life as a human being. I’ve got news for you Mr. President, not all men and women are created equal. Some are born without arms and legs, some with debilitating ailments, and others with extraordinary talents. There is nothing fair about it, but that is the way life is. No matter how much you try, you will never be able to make everything fair for everyone. If you wish to be fair to America as a whole, then work to get people a job. Not a government job, a private sector job. This is the one and only path to prosperity. Just thought I would share a friendly tip in case your IQ isn’t quite as high as mine.
President Obama and the Pharaonic Dynasties
Akhenaten, Hatshepsut and Barack Obama. What in the world do they have in common?
In the Pharaonic times of ancient Egypt, the rulers came and went, lived and died with little or no say of the people. However, after death, the next ruler, or sometimes the next ruler at the behest of the populace would “remove” a pharaoh from the official list of kings. In the Egyptian society, this basically deprived the individual of an afterlife.
Akhenaten suffered this as a result of his stripping the nation of it’s long held polytheistic religion, in favor of the worship of the sun-disc. He believed the sun to represent the only true God. In this way, history records him as among the earliest monotheists. After his death, his statues were destroyed, his new capital city abandoned, and a vibrant attempt was made to erase the “mistake” that was Akhenaten. Obama in his ignorance, has tried to strip America of her capitalist economic system in favor of wealth redistribution, which history has shown to always, oooops, I mean NEVER work!
Hatshepsut was the stepmother of Thutmoses III. Because Thutmoses was a young boy at the time of his fathers death, Hatshepsut ruled as co-regent with him. However, she liked power and when Thutmoses III was of proper age to take his rightful place as pharaoh, Hatshepsut struggled to maintain power. She even went so far as to wear a fake beard and dress like a male pharaoh. When she died, her monuments and statues were defaced, just like Akhenaten.
Here in America, we have only ourselves to blame for our modern day Akhenaten. We (not me) voted in Obama despite knowing he is a rabid socialist. Despite knowing he is friends with Bill Ayers. Despite knowing that he got a sweet deal on a mortgage that is crooked six ways to Sunday. Despite knowing that he would fill his cabinet with people like Van Jones. When America corrects her greatest presidential mistake in 2012, it would be wonderful to practice revisionist history as the left so oftens indulges in. We could simply compile our list of President’s and thoughtfully skip the entries for Jimmy Carter and Barack Obama. We could erase their name from the record, but would that help fix the destruction they wrought?
Enemies of the Left
It has long been said that because of an inability for them to defend and even campaign on their actual policies, the left has to create enemies and divisions in order to motivate its voting base. When is the last time you’ve heard a Democrat (outside of California or New England) actively campaign on “more taxes, more spending, more government, more bureaucrats, use less gasoline!” While the above slogans may make you a shoe-in in California, most national liberals have to campaign on “smaller, smarter government, bipartisanship, cut waste fraud, and abuse, and business friendly.”
However, another tactic to help them distract people from their true agenda is to create a list of enemies. While successful individuals have long been an enemy of the left, so have certain industries. Probably their favorite enemy is “big oil.” But you also hear them denigrate many other industries, including “big retail, big food, big energy, big banks, and Wall Street.”
However, think about industries that have truly been a huge burden on society. The above industries are largely aspects of society that are serving needs of customers and create millions of jobs. The “industry” that I notice most absent from the demonization is “big university.”
Kids today are shuffled through schools and taught that all you need to do is go to college and then you get a good job with benefits. Now we find that isn’t necessarily the case, as millions of kids fall into thistrap only to realize there is no guaranteed job. Not only have they been taught for life to get through college and expect someone else give them a job rather than attempt to produce their own wealth, they have now more often than not guaranteed themselves the equivalent of a new vehicle to mortgage worth of debt to carry along their journey before they even begin.
Yet do liberals ever question the fact, according to the Chronicle of Higher Education’s Annual Report in 2010, that 59 public college presidents earn packages worth over a $500,000 per year. Ohio State’s president earned a package worth $1.8 million in 2010. According to the AAUP, in 2009 the top averageprofessor salary was at UCLA with average pay of $144,500. Other examples: the Associate Dean of Engineering at University of Missouri earned over $190,000 in 2010, according to the Columbia Tribune’s University Salary Database. If you do a search on most any university, search for those salaries making more than $100,000. You will be amazed by list after list of the payrolls and who is making what. Deans, Deans of the Chancellor, Chancellor of the Dean, Principals, and on and on. Keep in mind these are public entities which are subsidized largely by state funds and often federal funds. Yet there is zero outrage from the left over these high paid positions of redundancy, little oversight, and make-work.
Now let’s look at the other side of the ledger. You have millions of college kids each year paying for their education and in many cases, being crippled with thousands in student loan debt by the time they are finished. Yet who gets blamed? Those mean Wall Street and big financial institutional student loanlenders. Solutions offered… more federal financial aid.
So let’s get this straight; the government can tell a bank how much it can charge for credit card processing, but nowhere is there a limit to what can be paid out of public funds to massive university bureaucracies? Now why do we think this is…?
Since there aren’t easily accessible stats, one can only speculate on the following. It is, however, no coincidence that colleges and in general, college professors have become bastions of liberalism. All overthe country there are examples of conservative points of view being shunned, demonized, or worse on college campuses.
If a business owner in the private sector who creates his or her own job and jobs for others made $1.8 million, expect the left to dislike them and demand they pay more of their “fair share” despite the factthat their presence alone pays salaries, pays huge amounts of taxes through expenditures, as well as income taxes.
However, if a professor of the arts who puffs a pipe back in the faculty lounge most of the day and makes hundreds of thousands of dollars of other peoples’ money, it’s somehow ok with the left. All the while, the “little guy” college student also pays thousands for an education that guarantees them nothing but starting out their professional life with equivalent debt of a new car or house before they actually get the ever more elusive job.
Occupy Wall Street wants American Revolution!
I can’t say that I am surprised. Looking at all the banners shown on television with the pro-communist messages. Thankfully, I have a great idea for dealing with these out-of-control mobs:
First, all of the protesters should sign a petition stating their demands and what it is they are hoping to achieve. With this list, all of us “greedy corporations” can compile a who NEVER to hire hot-sheet to be distributed around the country. I don’t want any communists, Marxists, or socialists working for me EVER! This will give them the equality they seek, that of being unemployed. They can all remain unemployed and do what socialists do best, suck off the system paid for by the very corporations they seek to bring down.
How many of you saw the ignorant African-American teacher from the Los Angeles school district who said the Jews were behind this inequality and should be removed from this country. I never knew there was such a thing as a black female Nazi, but southern California has one in the classroom teaching children! What an awesome assembly of people with great ideas for our nations future, and they have infiltrated our schools. If anyone in California had any sense, that teacher would be removed immediately. There is no doubt in my mind that her ability to teach without bias is non-existent.
According to the their own description on the OccupyWallSt.org site, their aim is a revolution in this country in the model of the Arab Spring. Ok, let us take a closer look at this. In the Arab Spring, the dictators were overthrown. I would say, not a bad thing, I don’t care that Egypt’s Mubarak and Colonel Quack in Libya got ousted. However, they want a “revolution” here as well, which means the overthrow of the American government! That is a treasonous position which should be taken very seriously.
In the United States of America, law and order applies to everyone, including those protesters who have illegally camped in their so called “Liberty Square”. The park rules clearly state no tents, camping, sleeping bags, etc. Are they following the rules, of course not. In this regard, they are the 1%. The rules don’t apply to them because they are on a misguided mission to change the world into a socialist, communist, marxist utopia, take your pick.
The second step must be the removal of the OccupyWallStreet protesters from their illegal encampments. They have a right to protest and have their voices heard, but not by protesting without permits where required by law. Nor do they have the right to occupy public or private parks rendering them trash heaps and unusable by the common taxpayer whose money goes to maintaining those parks. Why they are out protesting and defecating on cars and performing other lewd acts, I am paying my taxes contributing to their welfare checks!
The police need to enforce the laws, removing these protesters by measured force. No one should be hurt, or killed. That being said, they must be removed. Law and order requires it. The Occupy Wall Street movement needs to take a basic American civics class, we change things in America via the Democratic voting process. Taking a crap on a police car, is not part of the process, but it is a telling view into the mind of these morons down in this new movement.
In closing, those of you in the Occupy Wall Street movement need to travel to the White House and park yourselves there for a few months. The bailouts that you are protesting about are the result of the current administration. The fact that you can’t get a job is a direct result of the fear that us greedy corporations feel due to our overwhelming distrust of this administration. In short, the “Hope and Change” you voted for is here and elections have consequences. Thankfully, a peaceful and law-abiding revolution will take place at the ballot boxes in November 2012. I am counting the days!
Liberal Policies Consistently Hurt
With the recent public outrage over the newly announced $5 monthly debit card fee for all Bank of America accounts, there has been one noticeable item missing from the media reporting as well as those who are outraged.
The reason that Bank of America enacted the legislation was a direct result of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act. Why hasn’t that been widely publicized? In general, the media protects their own. I won’t bore you by digging deep into the details of the bill, but it involved the United States government dictating to private sector banks how much they are allowed to charge per debit card transaction. It also involved significantly limiting “proprietary trading,” which is a way banks can diversify their assets and hedge against risk.
I could take this article in many different directions. One way to take it would be to describe detail by detail how liberal government policy and intervention into the private economy caused a housing bubble that contributed to the Great Recession. Or we could discuss how the liberal continuous printing of money devalued our currency which caused a spiking of energy and food prices in 2008 also contributing to our economic collapse. And when I describe “liberal” policies, my blame is directed at both parties as until 2010, we’ve had both Republican presidents and Congress’s who wanted to be “bi-partison” and allow these policies to be put in place.
Let’s go down the checklist and detail how liberal policy hurts those they claim to help:
Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform Act: Creates new bureaucracies who impose limitations on large banks, whose huge presence make them easily accessible by many inner city and lower income individuals. In turn, because these banks have shareholders and owners to answer to, they have to make up for their loss of revenue. Therefore, $5 per month is now charged to each debit card holder. These debit card holders include many inner city residents, minorities, and other groups that the compassionate liberals claim to help.
Cap & Trade (proposed legislation passed the house in 2008 but was never brought up for a vote in the Senate). This legislation, using the drummed up allegations of global warming, was meant to charge people for their carbon use. The whole point was to make using fossil fuels so expensive that people would limit use, thus reducing greenhouse gases. However, $5 per gallon gasoline hurts the poor and middle class way more than the “millionaires and billionaires.” A 40% eventual increase in home electric bills in the coal powered Midwest would have yielded the same result. Those who can least afford more energy prices would be the hardest hit. Those who can least afford to pay more for all goods and services that have energy priced into products are again the hardest hit. Not to mention that lower energy use is directly correlated with a weakened economy and thus less economic opportunity for a workforce seeking to enhance quality of life…
99 + Weeks of Unemployment Benefits: No conservative advocates throwing people out on the streets and not offering safety nets for those who may come across some poor luck. But to pay someone for two years to not work is not a viable solution for the unemployed. What it does after time is remove motivation and a sense of self worth, and it makes that person grow to be more dependent on government than they are on themselves or friends, family, etc for solutions. Nothing is more dehumanizing and limiting than being dependent on a bureaucracy to provide for one or one’s family. In a liberal’s mind, this is compassionate. In my mind, it completely underestimates that ability of the human being and private family to create solutions and get by.
Progressive Taxation: The point is not necessarily that the rich cannot afford an extra 5%. Of course they can. However, the point is that constantly going back to this segment of society for more money to the government assumes that bureaucrats can better spend this extra money than can private citizens. And as we all know, that would be a very poor assumption. Things are often described that if a rich person gets screwed over, a poor person benefits. This cannot be more incorrect. If the rich are constantly hammered for more and more and suddenly they decide not to buy a yacht…a true liberal is applauding. However, the workforce at the yacht factory is laid off. Food service and hotel workers in Las Vegas or other resort towns are the ones who get screwed over when our government goes after the wealthy for an extra 5% here or there. Any time the “rich” pull back anywhere in expenditure, it is the folks at the bottom, the folks who liberals claim to look out for who end up getting hurt.
Health Care Reform Act (Obamacare): This legislation alone is why many feel that this is perhaps the single most anti business president in history. The massive new bureaucracies, entitlements, and worst of all, uncertainty that this legislation creates throughout its 2000+ pages is way huge numbers of small businesses have hit pause. The uncertainty of how this affects businesses is why hiring is at a standstill. All for yet another government program full of mandates, quotas, and paperwork which has actually increased premiums despite a promise to decrease them. Some people actually feel it is meant to drive costs high enough for businesses to drop health insurance options in favor of sending them to a government type option.

Does Obama Aspire to be Carter 2.0?
When I first heard this reference, I laughed. Could Obama really be that bad? Did I really expect Obama to rocket to the top of the Worst American President’s list?
I must admit, I was not a comfortable soul on election day 2008. I didn’t care for John McCain, who was at least, a known quantity. I did vote for him, but I felt that the race for the top job was between a democrat (John McCain) and an ultra-left wing socialist. Well, people took the hope and change and in marched President Obama. How a man with no experience, and who had an annoying habit of voting “present” in the US Senate was elected to the highest office in the land is beyond me. It makes me think that people should have to take a political science exam before being allowed to vote. (Boy, I hear you liberals screaming already)! Seriously, Obama had no birth certificate at the time, no college transcripts, and admits he got elevated in life due to affirmative action. I would prefer a President who got somewhere in life based on his or her talents and/or merits instead of affirmative action. Of course most people were spell-bound by his wonderful public speaking abilities until we found out that he has no abilities without a teleprompter. Some people voted for Barack because he was black, which is just as racist as not voting for him because he is black. My question is, was it more important to have a black president than it was to rescue the country from the deep economic troubles it was facing?
I guess the answer was yes. No one who looked into Obama’s background with an objective viewpoint could think this man could run a country, let alone get one out of a near depression. That requires someone who has created jobs. Obama never created a job. Obama never had to meet payroll, remit payroll taxes, sales taxes, business property taxes, workmen’s comp fees, FUTA taxes, etc. He never had a chance. They say those who can can, and those who can’t teach. I guess the college professors who taught Obama proved that mantra to be true.
Now, in late September of 2011 we can clearly see that no amount of government stimulus will cause a meaningful long-term growth pattern for our country. If we believe that President Obama is a smart individual, then we should acknowledge the fact that he should realize his socialist policies have failed. In his own interest (that of saving his job next year) he should change course towards helping the private sector. To turn us around Obama would need to embrace a jobs plan that is embraced by those who create jobs… the private sector. Unless you are Solyndra, General Motors or Chrysler, Obama doesn’t care much for the private sector. It looks as though Obama will follow Carter into history as a one-term president and deservedly so. Together they can spar for the top spot on the notorious list of the worst American president’s.
To end on a lighter note, Herman Cain is rising to the top-tier of Republican candidates. If he winds up being the nominee, I will be an enthusiastic supporter. Not because he is black, but because he has the ability.

Atlas Shrugged and the Mystery of those who hate Individualism
First off, I must say that I don’t agree with every little point of Ayn Rand and her philosophy. General Patton had a saying that if two people agreed all of the time, one of them is unnecessary. I am a firm believer in my Saviour Jesus Christ. Since I am not a liberal, I can disagree with Ayn Rand on this matter and still find her others views to be both relevant and insightful. As a disclaimer, I am sitting down typing this with my “Who is John Galt” t-shirt on, while my van in the driveway has an “I am John Galt” bumper sticker on it. Now, let us get down to business.
I have heard the wacky liberals scream that Ayn Rand was a hypocrite for denouncing the social welfare programs of the United States, even while she took home a social security check. Why does this matter? The government, for years, forcibly removed social security money out of her paycheck. Why is she not entitled to have the money that was taken from her against her will returned to her? Anyone, anyone? That is what I thought, no answer to this simple question from any of the “great liberal thinkers” out there. Her ideas for a free-enterprise system completely free of government interference is exactly what the United States needs to once again reclaim our seat as the head producer of all things. Ideas, inventions, new techniques, unbridled freedom, all can be easily attained if the reach of government was less restrictive.
How about her views on individualism? The rugged individual is, in fact, what made this country great. As she points out in her novels, our Founding Father’s were the living embodiment of individualism. Only as individuals can we all truly be free. If I am constantly led to fight battles to hold other people from drowning in their own mistakes, how do they learn to better themselves, and how do I keep from being brought down with them? The liberals believe that I should give my talent and drive for the benefit of those who do not have, or do not wish to have my talents. I own three business ventures, and I employ many people. They help me, and I help them. We work together through good times and bad. I am not cold-hearted, I merely want to keep what is mine: my ideas, the fruits of my labor, and my self-respect. This is hard to do when at every turn, I face those who have decided it is easier to collect welfare, or some other form of government assistance, instead of putting down their PS3, and getting a job.
It doesn’t matter what the liberals believe about Ayn Rand and Atlas Shrugged. You can believe in your mind that you are bullet-proof, but I promise you, a bullet will still kill you. The liberals can think Atlas Shrugged a fantasy written by some wack-job who wanted to kill those, or let those who were less able die. They can believe that she was the anti-christ (though I find that hard to believe since that would mean they believe in God, which I think is contrary to what most liberals believe, given their stance on social issues which directly contradict Biblical teaching). My point is, what Ayn wrote about in Atlas Shrugged is very real, you can in fact, see it all around you. The smoke can be seen rising from our economic ashes, an economy killed by over-regulation in some areas (forcing banks to make loans who can not pay them back, thanks President Carter), to Obama’s recital of Fair Shake, Fair Deal, Fair Shot. What the liberals can not grasp is that we need less government inteference to have that Fair Shake, Fair Deal, and Fair Shot. By the way, isn’t the President a rather wealthy individual? Why doesn’t he give some of that money away to the hordes of people who now rely on government hand-outs?
